  • Assess the status of any previous recommendations made under this program or by other loss control consultants.

Construction Risk Surveys

  • Identify and evaluate the physical risks to construction projects, facilities, property and external interfaces that have a significant consequence in terms of financial loss to the project.
  • Quantify property damage, machinery breakdown and project delay risks during construction and for plant and equipment commissioning.
  • Assess the appropriateness of controls and protection systems at the design stage.
  • Report on construction and expenditure schedules.
  • Report on project handover schedules.
  • Make recommendations as to potential improvements in reducing or eliminating the identified risks at the operation or on the strengthening of management systems influencing the management of risk.
  • Assess the status of any previous recommendations made under this program or by other loss control consultants.
  • Assess/develop workaround methods.
  • Advise on industry best practice.

 

Specialist Detailed Audits of Core Risks

Specialty reviews are conducted in key areas, such as tailings storage facilities, flood, draglines, underground specific risks, construction projects, condition monitoring, electrical, shiploaders, geotechnical and structural integrity. Hawcroft have developed a series of detailed reviews for core risks across operations. The process involves:

  • Identify and evaluate the critical controls in place for a defined risk.
  • Quantify the effectiveness and suitability of the current controls. Identify if new controls are required.
  • Provide a rating of the adequacy of the critical controls for a defined risk.
  • Make recommendations as to potential improvements in reducing or eliminating the identified risk or on the strengthening of systems influencing the management of the risk.
