Ross Cannings Ross Cannings (Director)
Australia

Ross has a Degree in Mining Engineering and 35 years experience in the underground base metal and gold mining industry including 16 years as a senior manager in operations, civil projects and quality systems development. Ross has NSW, WA and TAS Mine Manager’s qualifications. As a consultant, Ross specialises in risk based business reviews and insurance risk surveys.


Jessica Cawthorne Jessica Cawthorne (Administrator)
Australia

Jessica brings her management experience from one of Australia’s largest telecommunications companies to providing project management, data analysis and administration for one of our clients. Jessica also provides similar support internally across other clients.


Tim Coleman Tim Coleman (Senior Consultant)
USA

Tim has a Degree in Mining Engineering and 39 years’ experience in the coal mining industry, most recently as General Manager responsible for two operating metallurgical coal mines and division staff. Tim has experience in management of surface mine related capital projects , ventilation engineering, due diligence and evaluations of foreign and domestic potential mining properties, consulting related work including surface and underground mine design and property management.


Michael Coull Michael Coull (Senior Consultant)
Australia

Michael has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree and holds a First Class Mine Managers Certificate (NSW). He has experience in the development of health and safety management systems across Australian and International mining industry operations; in the conduct of operational risk assessments for both mining and associated industry clients and in auditing of both safety management and quality management systems. Michael has extensive operational experience in underground coal, including ventilation, gas management and associated monitoring.


Paul Kraus Paul Kraus (Director)
USA

Paul has a degree in Mining Engineering and 28 years experience in the underground coal mining industry. Paul is a registered Professional Engineer-State of Ohio and Illinois and the Commonwealth of Kentucky as well as a Certified Mine Manager State of Illinois, Certified Mine Foreman State of Ohio and Illinois and Commonwealth of Kentucky. Paul is a Member Society of Mining Engineers and Executive Board Member of the Illinois Coal Association (ICA).


Darren Loftas Darren Loftas (Senior Consultant)
UK

Darren is a Chartered Mining Engineer and has Mine Manager experience in surface and underground hard rock and industrial mineral mining operations. Darren has experience in the planning and execution of capital projects and has worked at Director level within international groups deploying World Class safety, operating and maintenance strategies in both surface and underground operations. Darren is a qualified instructor and coach in lean and continuous improvement tools and techniques. Darren has worked in the mining industry for 27 years.


Mark McCamley Mark McCamley (Director)
UK

Mark has QLD and NSW Mine Manager’s qualifications and 31 years experience in the underground and surface coal mining industry including 5 years as mine manager. Mark has experience in business planning, ventilation engineering and gas management, risk management, safety and training, statutory audits, safety management systems and accident/ incident investigation. Mark is an internationally qualified auditor of Safety and Health Management systems.


Mario Lopez Villa Mario Lopez Villa (Senior Consultant)
Mexico

Mario has 30 years of experience in underground mines and planning, including ventilation engineering, operation of underground metal mines and industrial safety, health & environment. He is a graduate of Mines Nancy, France and commenced with Hawcroft in October 2017.


Greg Nieuwenhuis Greg Nieuwenhuis (Senior Consultant)
Australia

Greg holds a First Class Mine Managers Certificate in both QLD and NSW and has been involved in the mining industry for 37 years. He has extensive experience in underground coal mining, and has been involved in Development, Pillar Extraction and Longwalling, both operationally and in mine design through various feasibility studies. He has held many Senior Management roles in both mining, contract and business areas and has mining qualifications including Site Senior Executive, Mine Manager Certificate, Ventilation Officer and various risk based qualifications.


Kirk Nobis Kirk Nobis (Senior Consultant)
USA

Kirk is a Mining Engineer with 40 years experience in the mining industry. He is experienced in multiple areas of mining. Work includes consulting projects, underground coal mining, risk assessments, productivity improvements, production development/marketing, operations, rail transportation, coal supply/contract administration, and economic analysis. Kirk commenced working with Hawcroft in 2016 on a casual basis.


Paul Tutin Paul Tutin (Senior Consultant)

Paul has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), Master of Engineering Science (Engineering Management) and is a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and a Member Institute of Metals and Materials Australia Ltd. For the past 20 years Paul has managed and / or carried out mechanical engineering and testing of materials, strain gauging, failure analysis, corrosion investigations and vibration analysis. Paul has provided services to industries including power generation, mining, oil / gas, transportation, aviation, civil engineering and building.


Jerry Wallace Jerry Wallace (Director and Company Secretary)
Australia

Jerry has NSW Mine Manager’s qualifications and 37 years of experience in underground coal mining industry with 21 years in senior management roles including 5 years as Operations Manager and Statutory Mine Manager. Highly proactive in Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) performance, systems development and implementation. Experience includes business planning, safety and training, CH4 management, longwall operations, strata management, risk management, accident/incident investigation, Global Assurance, Core Hazard and statutory audits, interaction with Local, State and Federal Government Agencies and Human Resources management.


Courtney Westhorpe Courtney Westhorpe (Administrator)
Australia

Courtney has extensive experience in administration, customer service and technical computer skills from her previous government career. Her role with the company involves providing administrative and operational support across all levels of the organisation.


Yiyi Wu Yiyi Wu (Accountant)
Australia

Yiyi has a Degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Marketing) and has 5 years experience in Accounting and Finance. Yiyi joined Hawcroft Group in 2011. Her role with the company involves the reporting, bookkeeping, financial planning and administration management.
